How do I place an order?

We will need to know;
• Your Library membership number
• A contact telephone number and email address
• Your book requests / preferences. This could be a selection of your favourite authors, genres or specific book titles. You can still search the Online Library Catalogue to select items, but can only request books via telephone or e-mail.
• Your preferred collection point.
Staff will do their best to meet your requirements, but please be aware that many of the most popular titles may still be on loan because of the current lockdown situation. Delays from suppliers may also mean that some new book releases are also currently unavailable.
How do I collect my order?
This is a minimum contact service. Library staff will select the items for you from stock available in our libraries and contact you by telephone or email with a date and time slot when you can visit the library to collect your items.
Please note: We are following Public Health Wales guidance on reducing the risk of cross contamination by placing all books in a 72 hour quarantine on return and prior to distribution. Items will be packed and issued into disposable bags for your convenience ready for you to take away
When visiting the library please adhere to social distancing measures in place and make use of the hand sanitization facilities. Staff will be on hand to manage entry into the building.
How do I return items?
Loans will be for the usual three week period, however as most of our branches are closed for collection and return we will automatically renew items if not returned after three weeks and no fines will be placed. We do however encourage you to return these items as soon as you can so that they may be re-issued to another borrower.
You can return any items you have on loan by placing items into return bins at the library entrance. Please note:
• You may be required to queue to place items into return bins
• To safeguard our staff, we are following Public Health Wales guidance on reducing the risk of cross contamination by placing all books in a 72 hour quarantine on return. Our staff will therefore not handle any returned items directly.
• The library building is not open for browsing and only pre-ordered items can be collected.
Home Library Service
For Library members’ resident in Flintshire who are unable to get to Mold, Flint, Buckley, Holywell, Broughton or Connah’s Quay Library due to health or mobility reasons, we will be able to deliver items to your home address, or to a local collection point via our Mobile Library. Our friendly staff will be able to talk you through the details when placing your order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can access the service?
The service is only available for Aura Library members. The Home Library Service is only available to Aura Library members resident in Flintshire.
How many items can I order?
Items are limited to 10 items per member. These limits are to ensure we can circulate stock to as many borrowers as possible and also to allow for quarantine of stock on return. (Returned items will not be taken off your account until 72 hours after return)
Is there a cost for the service?
There is no charge for the order and collect service, our staff will not ask you for any financial or bank details.
Why can’t I collect from my local Library?
In order to ensure our customers and staff are safe, we are following government guidance to delivering our services where we can apply and conform to social distancing regulations.
The building housing Deeside Library is not currently managed by Aura Leisure and Libraries therefore we currently cannot offer public access to these sites.
What if I am feeling unwell or self-isolating?
If you are self-isolating or currently feeling unwell, please delay your collection or returns until later.
What if I am unable to collect my items?
Contact the library on 01352 703750 if you are unable to pick up your items. If the library does not hear from you within 5 working days of your pick up time the items will be returned to the collection.
Can I return my items I already have on loan?
Yes. Return bins are available at Mold, Flint, Buckley, Holywell, Broughton or Connah’s Quay Library. Our Home Library Service delivery drivers are able to collect items for return on request or when delivering your next order.
Why are you quarantining my books?
Aura Libraries are following health recommendations regarding quarantining items after they are returned. This is to reduce the risk to library staff and customers. Once quarantine is completed, library staff will return the items from your account. No charges will be applied during this quarantine period.
My items are due back, what do I do?
All items will automatically be renewed during this until further notice. You can return your items at Mold, Flint, Buckley, Holywell, Broughton or Connah’s Quay Library 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9am-1pm Saturday.

Can I get the home delivery service?
Home delivery is available for all vulnerable persons who have no other means of accessing items due to health of mobility issues.
Can I select my own titles?
At this time libraries are closed for browsing in accordance with Government guidelines. We will endeavor to meet your requirements through the Select and Collect service.
Can I collect my Book Club set?
Unfortunately access to multiple copies of titles is restricted, as stock is only available from within our own authority. We will however endeavor to supply individual borrowers
How can I change my online membership to a full library membership to access this service?
You can call or email the library to update to a full membership. Your Library card will be packaged with your items for collection
What if I have fines or outstanding items on my account?
All items borrowed before the lockdown period, with due dates during that time, have been automatically renewed and should not have incurred any fines. To discuss your account please email email@example.com or call 01352 703750 and our staff will explain your options.
