What is Orienteering?

Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport that exercises mind and body. The aim is to navigate between checkpoints or controls marked on a special orienteering map. There is no set route, so the skill and fun come from trying to find the best way to go!

Where can I do Orienteering?

Wepre Park

Wepre Park in Connah’s Quay is already up and running with Flint Castle, Greenfield Valley and Shotton COMING SOON.

There are a number of orienteering posts to find throughout Wepre Park. Maps are available from the visitor centre or via billboards on site.

Greenfield Valley Dragon Trail

The Dragon Trail is a mile long route where you follow signs to complete a ‘daily mile’. It is a social physical activity where participants can walk, jog, sprint or wheel at their own pace.

Certificates will be handed out to anyone who has completed either the Orienteering or the Dragon Trail 10 times. Further certificates and prizes will be available for those completing 30 or 50 times.
