Systems Development Officer

Aura Leisure & Libraries Ltd

37 Hours Per Week

SS Grade G (SCP 30 to 33)
Salary from £26,725 to £29,325 per annum
Location: Based within Aura’s Head Office at Deeside Leisure Centre

Aura Leisure & Libraries Ltd is a charitable, not-for-profit, organisation which, from 1 September 2017, is responsible for managing the majority of leisure centres, libraries and heritage services previously operated directly by Flintshire County Council.  Aura is a Community Benefit Society, owned by its employees, with a vision of more people, more active minds and bodies, more often.

This post offers you an exciting opportunity to take the leading role in developing our IT software, the Gladstone Plus2 leisure management system, and maximising its potential to improve customer services and the front-of-house and online experience.  As system administrator for this SQL Server-based software, you will be Aura’s ‘technical expert’, maintaining consistency in its current application across four leisure centres whilst also liaising directly with the software supplier to ensure we maximise its full potential and are ‘future proof’ in terms of software advancement.

As leader of an experienced team of system users, you will support and coach colleagues to ensure they have the appropriate skills and knowledge to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction in relation to bookings and payment options.  You will lead by example, supporting centre management teams to maximise income through effective system configuration and the ease of use of all customer point of sale interfaces.

An important part of the post is your relationship with suppliers to ensure software upgrades, infrastructure maintenance and system downtimes are managed and communicated effectively and with the minimum of disruption to customers.

You will work closely with colleagues in Aura’s senior management team to ensure integration between Plus2 and Aura’s financial management processes is achieved.  The impact of your contribution to day-to-day system management will be clearly visible in the improved quality of performance reports extracted from Plus2.

Aura is seeking candidates with NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Management Information Systems and/or System Administration.  Ideally, you will have a good level of technical competence in SQL Server database systems and a commitment to putting the customer first.
