“This is the low level Wellbeing class that is aimed at clients who may of completed the NERS programme in the past, or who were attending the Wellbeing Classes that we operated across all our leisure centres prior to the lockdown. I will be doing a 40 minute class twice a week made up of a warm up, some exercises to improve mobility and strength followed by a cool down and stretch. You will need a dining chair and some light weights (tins of beans will do!). You can work to your own level and take breaks as you need to. I can’t wait to see you all!”

“The full total body workout will help you lose weight and improve muscle strength/tone. It will consist of a variety of exercises for the lower, upper and core areas of the body, which may include some high intensity exercises to help burn fat. You will only need a few pieces of equipment or an equivalent such as exercise matt, a stable chair and free weights.”

“Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing (TMW) is so valuable at this time and I am very much looking forward to practising together again. I have missed all the many benefits that coming together for TMW bring. TMW really helps us to stay in the present moment. When we do this we relax more and stay connected to ourselves and life all around us. This stops our thoughts running away leading to feelings of stress. These skills help us to feel so much better and keeping up our practice is very important at this time.
The sessions will run for 40 minutes, comprising of one sequence (either seated or standing), followed by a relaxation. If interest allows, there will be an option to return for some further time following the class to give us a chance to socially catch up with each other.
The class will be hosted on the Zoom application. Do not worry if you have not used this before; it is extremely easy. If I can do it anyone can! It will involve downloading the zoom app to your phone/tablet/computer and entering the meeting number given. I know the technology can be a bit daunting, but I urge everyone to give it a go; seek family support to set it up as it is surprisingly easy to use and such a valuable way of staying connected.”

“Abs is an Intermediate/Advanced class that is taken on the floor. This class will strengthen your core muscles and help you work on a six pack! I will give easy and harder options along the way. I recommend that you warm up with some pulse raising exercise before this class. I’m really looking forward to getting back to this class. The playlist is ready!”
NERS Circuits with Sue: Every Friday from 11.30am-12.00pm.

“This is the normal NERS circuit which we do on a weekly basis and is purely just for all our NERS clients who are currently on the NERS scheme. I will doing be a 40 minute class which will involve a warm up then a circuit with various exercises to help our clients with their fitness, flexibility, mobility and balance. We will then finish the session with a cool down and stretch. All of this will be in a safe and controlled way in a friendly atmosphere.
I am really looking forward to taking the classes as I have missed them. I am so looking forward to seeing everybody and getting everyone back to exercising!”
